Japanese Sencha Green Tea is characterized by its vibrant green color and clean, fresh, slightly grassy flavor profile. This classic leaf tea that is simple to prepare and can be enjoyed hot or cold. Preparing this tea involves briefly steeping the leaves to extract their flavor and aroma. This highly regarded green tea provides a refreshing break at any time of day, making it an excellent addition to your daily routine.
How to brew:
Add 1 level TSP of Stillroom Green Tea to a Stillroom Stainless Tea Infuser in a large mug - add boiling water & steep 1 - 2 minutes - briefly steep -- as over-steeping can result in a bitter taste, so be mindful of the steeping time. You can experiment with the steeping time to find the perfect flavor and strength to suit your taste buds & doing a second steep is a great idea too. Because of the low steeping time, it’s actually possible to get between three and five more steeps out of the leaves.

Green tea, derived from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze plant, is among the most widely consumed and health-promoting beverages worldwide. Its use dates back to around 3000 BC in ancient China. Historical records, including the ancient medical text Shen Nong’s Herbal Classic, demonstrate that the Chinese population was aware of tea’s health-promoting properties. Subsequently, the recognition of tea’s health benefits has transcended national boundaries, becoming widely acknowledged both within China and internationally.
