Earl Grey tea caught the tea world’s eye sometime in the 1800's. Earl Grey is known for its bright, refreshing taste and has long been a favorite in tea cultures worldwide, making it an essential addition to any herbal tea fan's collection of loved loose leaf teas.

Earl Grey tea generally contains a moderate amount of caffeine, typically ranging from 40 to 70 milligrams per 8-ounce cup, which is roughly half the caffeine content of a standard cup of coffee.
As a black tea blended with bergamot oil, its caffeine levels are similar to other black teas, providing a gentle energy boost.
HOT BREW ~ Steeping Instructions:
Use 1 tsp per 8oz, add boiling water (97C), steep for 3-5 minutes. For best results, use filtered water and sweeten to taste. Can be steeped in milk. Adding a bit of milk creates a creamy, more mellow tea.
Ingredient: Organic Black Tea (Camellia sinensis), natural bergamot flavor. 150 gram bag
For a London Fog Tea:
- 8 ounces (227 grams) boiling water
- 2 teaspoons loose leaf Earl Grey Tea
- 2 teaspoons Pure Maple Syrup honey or sweetener of choice, to taste
- 4 ounces (113 grams) Milk or less for a stronger tea. Use plant or dairy milk.
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
For a Lady Gray Tea :
- "Lady Grey" is an English classic, with Lavender florets added / and a squeeze of Lemon.

The History of Earl Gray Tea
The tea is named after Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, who lived from 1764–1845 and was British Prime Minister. Charles Grey was the PM who initiated abolishing all forms of slavery in Britain. Earl Gray Tea gained vast popularity in high society, largely promoted by Lady Grey in the 1830's.
A enduring story tells that a Chinese mandarin gifted the blend to Earl Grey in 1803 as gratitude for saving his son from drowning.
The distinct citrus flavor comes from the rind of the Bergamot Orange, a fruit grown largely in Calabria, Italy, which is a hybrid of bitter orange and lemon.
