Using Palo Santo Wood*  for smudging..  Sustainably ethically sourced from Ecuador..

Traditionally, First Nations used white sage or other sacred plants and herbs for smudging. However, using Palo Santo wood offers aromatic, softly sweet notes of pine, mint, and lemon and can be used in place of white sage & gifts your indoor field of space with a delightful scent and can also help to avoid allergy triggers, lift the Spirit and clear the mind of anxiety.  Palo Santo smudging, it's your answer to ~good~ vibes. Palo Santo properties are capable of resetting energy that is tainted by negativity or conflict. It also is thought to neutralize issues before they even start. It even has the power to attract sacredness and benevolence to a space. The wood is harvested from the mystical tree called Bursera graveolens, nicknamed Palo Santo, that grows in South America.

Spanish for “holy wood” or “sacred wood,” Palo Santo wood is a grounding, inspiring wood /oil with a woodsy undertone. Like Frankincense & Myrrh, Palo Santo is an uplifting herb that can be used to help deepen your connection in daily Mindfulness or meditation practice . Recognized as a spiritual holy wood smudge or essential oil to dispel negative/fear based energies and protect against unwanted spiritual influences.. A pure plant tool for on-the-go essential creation of a more peaceful, manageable serene day...

Palo Santo’s aroma has sweet notes of pine, mint, and lemon. Although part of the citrus family, it is enjoyed by many for its cleansing and energetic properties similar to Frankincense, Myrrh, Sage + Cedarwood.

Considered to be a holy wood, the Incas have been burning palo santo since ancient times as a spiritual remedy to purify and cleanse. They had a strong belief and understanding of the many benefits to burning palo santo. Purifying the spirit and clearing negative energy are common uses for palo santo wood smudge sticks, but the sacred wood is also known to inspire creativity, bring a deeper understanding of our continuous connection to the divine source, and aid in physical + mental well being.

How to use:

Place the Palo Santo stick into a fireproof container like an Abalone shell with sand ~ or a simple bowl with sand or salt in it's base ~ on a sturdy surface like a table or desk.  Allow yourself to focus your energy + light the tip of your palo santo wood stick with a lighter, let it burn for about 30 seconds so the flame catches then gently blow the flame out so the tip of the stick is smoldering. Re light if needed. You can gently, carefully wave the stick around to help the smoke accumulate holding the abalone shell or a bowl beneath the smoldering stick at all times. Once smoke arises from the ember, you’re ready to say your prayer, blessing or set your intentions during your ritual. This is a personal experience, so the intention you set is completely up to you. A common prayer/intention/blessing to invoke when smudging is asking Love ,Truth & Light into your field + for it to please remain protecting and balancing all who reside and enter here, while requesting that all fear exit.. When finished, extinguish your palo santo stick in the sand/salt in your container and set aside until the next time you smudge.  Always practice caution and safety when using lit materials.
